This Pinewood Derby Wheel Polishing Kit will polish many sets of wheels. I can safely say that 15 sets of wheels can be polished and prepped for racing.
This is perfect for the Pinewood Derby pack or enthusiast who is tired of forking over big bucks to a retailer who is repackaging bulk items in a minuscule quantity to turn a big profit.
After thorough research, scouring the forums, and reading customer complaints, I believe that I have the best wheel polish kit.
Apply polish to center of the wheel. Use studio 35 cue tips to work the polish into the outer hub. Do not apply too much pressure. REPEAT FOR OTHER WHEELS
STEP 2. Load a polishing spear into your DRILL. Take your marked junk wheel that is included in your kit and run the polishing spear through it one time. This will compress the polishing spear down to a safe diameter to use on your other wheels.
STEP 3. Apply a tiny amount of wheel polish to the center hole of each wheel. Using your newly compressed polishing spear, work the polish in and out of the inner bore hole 10x’s. REPEAT FOR OTHER WHEELS. It is not necessary to use a new spear for each wheel.
STEP 4. Remove any residual polish with another studio 35 swab and allow the wheels to dry for 30 minutes.
STEP 5. With a studio 35 swab, buff away any remaining dry material that is on the outer hub of the wheel. You can do this by hand or with your DRILL.
STEP 6. Load a new polishing spear into your DRILL. Run the polishing spear through the marked junk wheel one time to compress the spear into a safe diameter. Now use the newly compressed spear and buff away any residual polish that is inside of the inner wheel bore. REPEAT FOR OTHER WHEELS. it is not necessary to use a different swab.
YOUR WHEELS ARE NOW POLISHED AND READY FOR GRAPHITE!!
FOR graphite, the process is pretty much the same.
Apply the graphite to the wheel anywhere where the axle will make contact. Use the studio 35 swab to work it in to the plastic.
When applying graphite to the inner bore, make sure to compress your new spear with the marked junk wheel first.
